The year is 328 BC. The Hellenistic Culture has spread
throughout the Mediterranean region. It is an Olympic year. Alexander
the Great has brought Persia, Asia Minor and Egypt under the control
of Greece. His plan to build new cities and rebuild others has begun
to blossom. Learning, trade, philosophy, and science are all making
great advances.
YOUR TASK is to produce an Ancient Greek Newspaper. It must
contain , at the least, all of the following elements.
- Choose a name for your newspaper; make the Banner at
the top of your paper.
- The newspaper will have at least 3 lead articles, with
the appropriate Headlines. You will choose the 3 in depth lead
stories from the list below. They will be 4 to 9 paragraphs.
Lead articles will introduce a subject, provide some background

subject, by pointing the importance and/or consequences of what
your topic discusses.

that Alexander built or rebuilt, or about one of the
special sites of features of another place in the Greek
empire of this time.
|

Greece, etc.

an item from the list above that was not yet used, or come up with
your own idea. The short article will be from 1 to 3 paragraphs,
with a very direct focus on a single theme.
- The newspaper will have at least 4 pictures, with
captions. They may be hand drawn, photocopied or from the
Internet. If they are not your own, they must be included in the
