  1. You will assume the role of a journalist in different time periods of the 20-century.
  2. You will present to the class the results of your interviews and research, with a :
    1. 5 to 10 minute oral presentation
    2. poster that provides us with a clear understanding of your subject
    3. 1 &endash; 2 page handout for each student in your class'
  3. The class handout will include the following information
    1. Be sure that you list 3 central questions, at the beginning of your handout, that will guide your interview information and presentation. The questions should address:
      1. What happened [with your person or event]? Be sure to include all necessary background for the class to understand what made it important.
      2. What was its significance? What made it so special or unique? What is your opinion of this person or event?
      3. What were the consequences for the future?
    2. In addition, you will include a vocabulary list [of at least five words or terms] of new words or terms connected with your person or event.
  4. You will provide a rough draft of your presentation prior to your presentation.
    1. It will provide a 1-2 page clean draft of your class handout
    2. It will include all the requirements as listed in Item #3 [above].
    3. It will also include your vocabulary words and their definitions/explanations
  5. Your presentation will include a poster with visual material, such as pictures; cartoons, quotes, realia, graphs and/or other research material you choose to present, in order to thoroughly illustrate the main ideas of the interview.
    1. You will also attach a copy of your presentation paper.
  6. You will also include a bibliography with at least 3 citations.

 

 

You will be graded as following:

Rough draft of written handout

max. 15 points

Final draft of written handout

max. 25 points

Visual display, with paper/outline

max. 35 points

Presentation to the class

max. 25 points

TOTAL POSSIBLE:

max. 100 points

You must present your topic in the classroom in order to obtain any points!!!!!!!!!!
