Thank you for your correspondence urging my veto of Assembly Bill 733. After a careful review of the many issues involved with this legislation, I decided to sign this measure.

It is inevitable that there will be varying opinions as to the best solutions to resolve the diverse and complicated problems that face the State of California. Please be assured that I am doing my best to strengthen California's leadership role in education, public safety, health care, job opportunities and many other important state activities and programs. Although approaches to specific issues may vary, I am hopeful that all Californians will join together in addressing these critical challenges.
