Looking over the listings for the past few days on the TV Guide web site, I seem to have noticed a marked increased in stations showing old Schwarzenegger movies. Can't understand why...
Posted by Zathras at August 12, 2003 08:31 PMand you will soon see a MARKED DECREASE in ah-nold movies on tv (well, at least non-cable in Calif):
No Sat. Nite Live reruns with Father Guido Sarduchi in Calif. also ...
And, while Ah-nold has no platform, at least GALLAGHER does:
http://gallaghersmash.com/html/platforms.htm
Let's see, we also have (at least one) porn star running:

Billboard model Angeline
Richard Simmons
(this is sounding more and more like a bad early 80's variety special)
Here's the list:

Makes me wanna move to Calif...NOT!!!
Posted by: Shaw at August 13, 2003 02:53 AMEven the porn starlet has a platform (that ah-nold still doesn't have):

"6. As Governor, I will recruit fellow performers from the adult video industry as ambassadors of good will. These ambassadors will be a great help to California when it comes to such things as negotiating rates for buying electricity from neighboring states."
Uh, and how, exactly, does this candidate intend to use "fellow performers" for negotiations?
Posted by: Shaw at August 13, 2003 04:53 AMArnold did pose for gay porno a while back:
"Spy magazine had reported that Arnold once posed for gay nude photos"

Posted by: Matt at August 13, 2003 08:12 PMI heard somethin' about that a very long time ago.
"Come to California! All of our candidates are porn stars (except, thankfully, Gallagher)."
Posted by: Shaw at August 13, 2003 08:40 PMAnd not one blog that I read talked about the East Coast blackout.
!$!#
Posted by: Shaw at August 15, 2003 06:40 PMOk, my lights went out.
They came back on today. I reset all my clocks.
Happy? ;)
Oh - after your reaction to 'She-Bop', I am not going to tell you about Gallaghers' sordid past...
>;-)
Posted by: Matt at August 15, 2003 06:54 PMDude - I dont wanna know about Gallagher's past...
I was stuck with all that $!#!# stuff in the early 80's - I had Showtime. I saw all the Gallagher specials. Ugh.
I even saw all those old Bizarre's with John Byner...and even "Brothers".
The only redeeming channel of any sort was HBO - only 'cuz they had Fraggle Rock. A show that is much needed now...
Posted by: Shaw at August 15, 2003 09:24 PMFraggle Rock! I had totally forgotten about that show! That was a neat show, I miss it. "Work your cares away, playing's for another day, let the Fraggles play, down in Fraggle Rock!"
This whole recall thing. Seems like every time I think it's become the biggest farce it possibly can, someone kicks the whole circus up another notch. It'll be quite a relief when it's all over with.
You know, it just occurred to me: in following all this lunacy, I haven't even asked my sweetie whether she's going to vote, and if so, how. :-)
Posted by: Zathras at August 16, 2003 07:22 AMOf course I'm going to vote... I also signed onto the list of available volunteers for my county, so I might be a precinct worker again. I'm not sure who I am going to choose if I vote in favor of the recall, but I know it sure as hell won't be Arnold... I am fairly sure that if the recall goes through, we're just going to elect Bustamente -- especially after Arnold's handler let it slip that he'd like to recall the overwhelmingly supported Prop 13. (fyi, Prop 13 is what holds property tax to minimal growth, so it does not balloon to eclipse the homeowner's income within a few years of being bought.)
Posted by: Moggy at August 16, 2003 02:20 PMAh-nold doesn't even have a platform yet! So, I can't blame you for not voting for him. He's actually BEHIND in the polls right now.
Again, the world really needs a show like Fraggle Rock. Lots of folks miss Jim Henson, even ten yrs. after his death. I'm one of them...
Posted by: Shaw at August 16, 2003 05:41 PMHeh, my family had HBO when I was a kid, but Fraggle Rock numbered among the shows that made no sense to me. :-/
The reason I'm not voting for Arnold isn't due to his lack of a platform, but because he's Republican/conservative. I'm as Green/liberal as a person can get. *grin*
Posted by: Moggy at August 16, 2003 07:15 PMwhy didnt fraggle rock make any sense? too weird? It wasnt exactly a typical muppet show - that's for sure.
Which green/liberal candidate (out of, the gazillion that are there on the ballot) are you gonna vote for then? You got a lotta choices...
