Alcatel 1000 configuration
Alcatel 1000 ADSL bridges were shipped pre-configured to use trunk VP/VC 0/35. For newer circuits (particularly those provisioned on remote terminals), it may be necessary to reconfigure this.
- Configure your computer to use 10.0.0.140 for its IP address, 10.0.0.138 for its gateway, and 255.255.255.0 as its subnet mask.
- Open http://10.0.0.138/ in the browser of your choice.
- You will be presented with the Alcatel ADSL configuration interface. Select "Bridge" from the navigation menu.
- You will be presented with a number of "port states" that are available
to configure. You can delete existing ports or add a new one. Add a port
with the following characteristics:
- Set "Encap" to "LLCSNAP"
- Set FCS to "NO"
- Set VPI to 0
- Set VCI to 35
- If the Alcatel does not allow you to add a new port, delete one of the existing, disabled ports first, then try again.
- After adding a new port, delete your old entry and set the new entry's "stat" to "forwarding."
Note: Alcatel 1000 bridges with "AA" in their serial number cannot be reconfigured.
