Outlook 2002 Setup

When you first open Outlook 2002, you will be prompted to perform a setup procedure. This document is intended to assist with the initial configuration of Microsoft Outlook 2002. Begin by clicking "next."

Outlook will need to know if you will be using it for email. All Sonic.net accounts include email service, so select "yes" and click "next" to continue.

You will be prompted to specify the type of mail server you use. Sonic.net uses POP3 mail servers. Select POP3 and click "next."

You will be prompted to enter the primary information for your mail service here. For "Your Name" simply type in your name as you would like it to appear when you send mail. For "E-mail Address" type in your Sonic.net email address. The "Incoming mail server (POP3)" is pop.sonic.net. The "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" is mail.sonic.net. Enter your login name and password (they are case sensitive!) and select "Remember password" in order to avoid having to enter this information every time you check your email. Click "next."

Click "Finish" to conclude the primary mail configuration.

You may be prompted to enter your name again, as well as your initials.

Your will be prompted to make Outlook 2002 your default program for email and other purposes. If you would like for Outlook 2002 to be used when sending mail based upon web-page links and such, click "Yes."
