Spells without an opponent (e.g. money-drawing) are resemble planting a
garden and harvesting it. No one opposes you, and if you apply attention
and have a run of good luck (beneficient synchronicity) you may enjoy
smooth progress and a great harvest. 

Spells worked against an antagonist are like a sports contest or war;
you may fight to a win, a loss, or a draw. I believe that to perform a
death spell you must yourself be willing to die. That is all the energy
necessary, but even with that energy, you may not win after all, which
is why few people undertake such spells. Many people believe that it is
easier and less risky to work a confinement, reversal, binding, or
banishing spell on the opponent.
