I like every one of these books. Most of the books I profile here are titles that willbe immediately familiar to most Japanese citizens... they have transcended their original medium to become something more important within Japan, much as Peanuts and Snoopy have become a phenomena that exists almost separate from the original comic strip in the United States. Some of these have been translated; but all are fun to read, if you can manage it!
