Dragon Tears

Mara Lynn Barbee

----------------------------------------

Of the many ways to express sorrow,
The most poignant form known is dragon tears,
Shed for the good friends who won't see tomorrow,
Shed from the dragon's soul that anguish sears.
They are more than outlets for pent-up grief,
Some take the form of the strong emotion
And form masterpieces craved by the thief
That show sadness, rage, or strong devotion.
Tears shed from sadness may form precious stones,
Rage makes fire, and joy, crystal or water
Each shows the heartache of being alone,
Or joy and pride in their only daughter.
A dragon's tear is a magical wonder,
Portraying joy or a soul torn asunder.
