"On to the disc...first off the cd cover is great! Very professional looking and quite ominous. I love the way the cover art doesn't anchor any perceptions or musical stereotypes. It's very hard to get a feel for what the disc's music is like by looking at the artwork and I think that's a great quality. OFD is my first exposure to Synths work and it reminds me a lot of Joe Satriani's vibe. Synthuser does a wonderful (and inadvertant) job of capturing the peaceful transcendence found in Joe's Extremist and Surfing with the Alien discs. This is a dreamy and hypnotic album; I popped the sucker in the player and in what seemed like 5 minutes, the disc was over. That's how effectively and flawlessly the album's motif flows throughout the tracks." - Enrique "Fuel Devil" Schneider

"Well, what can I say except THANK YOU. I have just returned from honeymoon, and I recieved the CD today.
I love it !!!!! :-)))) As a musician myself, I appreciate the care and attention that you have spent on these tracks. The use of samples of movies as lyrics is a great idea, and the atmospheres that the music creates is excellent." - John Wilkinson

"First off, OFD....*wow*, Synthy, I'm blown!  I mean, I'm not generally predisposed to instrumental stuff, but this is damn good....I can't believe you composed and performed that whole album yourself, I'm terribly impressed." - Ann McMillan

"EVERYONE IS COMMENTING ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL GUITAR STYLE, IT'S FUCKING OUT THERE MAN.
AND BY THE WAY YOUR CD IS REALLY GOOD ON GOOD DRUGS :), TAKES YOU ON A NICE JOURNEY AHHH THE GREEN LEAVES ARE GOOD BROTHER." - Babymash

"I appreciate having been able to hear your stuff (esp. the OFD CD)." - The Irish Bastard

"Now, you may be wondering what I think of OCTOBER FOOL'S DAY. The answer is: As much as I enjoy WITCHKING, OFD just blows it away!!! A LOT of creativity and "prog" influence is evident here. I love the addition of the Alan Parsons Project-sounding guitars, the bass, and the soundbites from horror films works very well ("Poltergeist" is one of my all-time favorite movies and it's neat to hear dialogue from it on "Walking On Your Grave". Also using the opening & closing of "The Outer Limits" t.v. show as bookends for your CD was very clever. I love that show!!! :). The title track is my favorite of all. I love your piano work on this one. I've always liked that little-children's-rhyme-thingy at the beginning of the film "Halloween" and it works perfectly here...a very cool intro to a very cool song. Another favorite is "Outer Limits". This one has a real...drive(?).
Do you know what I mean? On this track, the sound of the keys, along with your particular style of playing, have a real drive, an urgency. The kind that makes it very easy to get a "groove" going as your listening to it (as do, "Scarecrow" & "Beast", 2 more standouts :). Does that make any sense? What I'm trying to say is that I enjoy "Outer Limits" a lot! One that I loved from the demo cassette that you sent me in May was "Technostacy Island" and it's great to now have it on CD (in an improved version at that!) Being somewhat of a believer in ghosts, "Spirits" gives me the creeps (no doubt your intention ;)!  Is the woman speaking on "Spirits" from a film, or from something real? Just curious.... Anyway, dissecting each individual track is quite meaningless for me, since I tend to take the entire CD in as one whole musical piece, with different sections. I enjoy it all from beginning to end. It's an extremely interesting listening experience, unlike anything I've ever heard. Your music has it's own unique style and I thank you for sharing your talent with me." - Matt McAfee

"Hi Synth, I got OFD today in the mail (my apologies for questioning whether you had sent it!).  I am listening to it right now, but haven't made it through the whole thing yet.  I really like it so far, and think you must be very talented.  (Of course, I had heard this from so many others, it wasn't any surprise to me). Did I understand correctly that all of the sound here is done with a keyboard? I gathered this was the case - I didn't realize you could make the other instruments sound so real!" - Melissa

"All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!  I LOVE IT!!!!!" - Anita Regner

"Good stuff - I like it :-)" - Erian Canlin

"October Fools Day is incredible.  I'm listening to it non-stop. I am really getting into it." - Phil Torretto

"I finally got a chance to listen to it more than a couple times.  It's excellent!  I'm very impressed.  You played all the instruments and wrote all the music?  It's even better than Phil's Both Sides album (hardy har har)!  It's very soothing, astronomical in some way, very good for listening while cruising the Internet.  I like all the tunes, but I think Drowning is one of my favorites, and the middle of Beast. And those sound clips from Outer Limits (and the others I assume--horror flicks?) add a lot to it.  It's clear to me that you put a LOT of work into your music, and the finished product sounds great.  It's not ancient tribal burial grounds, just......
Thanks much!  Trick or treat... trick or treat.... trick or treat...." - David M. Taylor

"Just wanted to let you know I'm still enjoying your music." - Ian Schneider

"I am listening to your CD as I write this.  Very cool!! Each time I listen to it I discover little nuances I did not notice before.
It sounds really good cranked on my Altec Lansing computer speakers.  Alyssa came in a little while ago and I told her we
were listening to Uncle Dan's music.  She heard the female voice on "Spirits" and said, "Why isn't the lady singing?" She liked the "monster" on the CD cover too." - Tom Byerly

"I won't make comparisons again- it stands on it's own merit!" - Kevin Collins

"I really enjoy the new CD." - Steven Davies-Morris

"FUCKING CLASSIC SHIT MAN KEEP PUMPING IT OUT THERE, FANTASTIC SOUNDSCAPES
AND YOUR PRODUCTION IS FUCKING PERFECTION." - Babymash
