The San Joaquin CHD WorkStart Youth Program provides academic guidance, career guidance, and life skills workshops to youth who are experiencing difficulties in school and those that have given up and dropped out school. Our Youth Coordinators assist and guide the student along to obtain a High School Diploma or GED and continue on to College.
To prepare them for life after high school, our students visit colleges and universities and participate in many community events. The world of work is explored throughout the program with employment workshops and work experience activities to give the student a solid foundation of how to find and keep a job.
Through fun, hard work, and a sense of belonging, our participants are able to change their lives for the better and help their families get on the road to success.
