This is not Honda's Web Site. It is a mock-up site created by Charles Kemper as an assignment for an Advance Web Publishing class. All photographs are the property of Honda and are borrowed only for the purpose of this assignment.

There are a few things, within the context of the assignments, that I wanted to achieve

  1. Attain a clean overall appearance.
  2. Keep the files associated with the pages as small as possible for fast loading.
  3. Keep the navigation frame as indiscrete as possible.
To accompish these goals I:

The Accord Sedan page is an imagemap. You can get more detailed photos of the interior, etc., by clicking various parts of the car. If I had the time, I would make all the car images into imagemaps to achieve the same purpose. The target is a '_top' that loads the images into a single frame. The 'Back' button returns to the initial frameset. If I were making imagemaps of the other cars, the 'Back' would lead to a frameset that had the navigation buttons and that car (an easy, quick reload since the image files would already be in the cache.)

Another thing to note is that the animated gif was also borrowed from Honda. The gif on the main page brings you to this disclaimer of sort, the one on this page will take you to their home site.

For the form, I created one large background by lightening a couple images, placing them on a white background, and saving as a very low quality jpeg. To attain a faster loading time, I use a 1 pixel square image with the 'LOW SRC' tag so that the actual images will load in after the rest of the page is loaded.
