Into the splendid
old growth forests of Walpole-Nornalup National Park we viewed 3
species of Tingle trees:
-
Eucalyptus guilfoylei (Yellow Tingle)
-
E. jacksonii (Red Tingle the great big-girthed ones)
-
E.
brevistylis (Rate's Tingle - rare, only 3 in the entire park, I think.)
There were also Karri
(E. diversicolor (the pale barked one) and another, more common
species of eucalypt called Marri (Corymbia calophylla),
which has just been placed into a new genus).
The corky-barked
trees with 'needles' were Allocasuarina decussata.
