In
our old way of dreaming, in what the Toltecs call “The Dream of
the Planet,” we learned and believed that we were responsible
for how other people felt-- and other people were responsible for emotions
we felt. If someone’s feelings were hurt, we knew we caused it.
If we were happy, we let whoever was making us happy know that they
should keep doing whatever it was that made us feel good.
We also learned
to ask for forgiveness when we hurt someone’s feelings, and expected
others to apologize to us.
The Toltecs teach
us that each of us “dreams” our reality, by filtering and
distorting the information being collected by our eyes, ears, and other
senses into a little virtual reality in our minds. If this is true (which
I certainly believe it is) then nobody can hurt you or make you angry
or happy-- you can only use them and the way you filter and distort
them to make yourself hurt, angry or happy. It is the story you tell
yourself about what happened that creates the emotional reaction.
So, the next time
that you imagine someone has hurt or happied you, try this: Ask THEM
for forgiveness for using them to hurt or happy yourself!
“Please forgive
me for using you to hurt my feelings.”
“Please forgive me for using you to make myself angry.”
“Please forgive me for using you to make myself happy.”
The Blame Game has
ended.
And you are free.
Free to be responsible for your own reality, and free to transform the
Dream of your Life as you desire. No one else is responsible for how
you dream but you, and you are not responsible for how any one else
dreams you in their dream.
This is Personal
Freedom. This is the goal of the Toltec teachings. This is the New Dream
of Heaven on Earth. Are you ready to transform YOUR dream?
You make me very
happy when you do!
