Salinas and Monterey have many dog friendly places. I will concentrate on two of them here. Salinas River Beach and Fort Ord, the closed army training base.
NOTE: Salinas River Beach has seasonal closures due to Snowy Plover breeding habitat areas. Carmel Beach and Monterey State Beach are a couple options.
