Original Vineyard Oil Paintings for Sale

     Donna Schaffer says she feels privileged to live in the middle of the Sonoma Wine Country vineyards (just to the west of Napa Valley). Her home is in the Dry Creek Valley appellation of Healdsburg. She must pass more than a dozen wineries and acres of vineyards to get to her home. Schaffer's "neighborhood" landscapes have glorious seasons and personalities she captures these vineyards on canvas so she can share the best seasons and the best times of day with her collectors.
     Some of her paintings are accomplished on-site or "plein aire", other paintings are based on her sketches, color notes and her personal reference photos. Schaffer's painting interpretations range from using thick paint (impasto) on some creations to smooth, detailed observations on others. Contact info is below.

Vineyard Workers and Grape Growers

The valley I live in is populated by families who grow grape vineyards. I've come to admire the people involved in the year round chores involved in nurturing their vines. Many of the smaller growers work the vineyards themselves with the help of their long time employees. I try to honor them by showing the details and personalities of their faces. They all have names and stories, I hope you enjoy my interpretations.
