     Donna Schaffer says she feels privileged to live in the middle of the Sonoma Wine Country vineyards (just to the west of Napa Valley). Her home is in the Dry Creek Valley appellation just outside of Healdsburg. She passes eight wineries and acres of vineyards to get to her home. Schaffer's "neighborhood" landscapes have glorious seasons and personalities she captures on canvas.
     Some of her paintings are accomplished on-site or "plein aire", other paintings are based on sketches and her personal reference photos. Schaffer ranges from using thick paint (impasto) on some creations to smooth, detailed observations on others. Contact info is below.
