Nighthawk Landscaping, 2006: Nov. 4

The last couple days have seen a push to get the new dirt into the backyard, close up the fence, and put in the walls that will retain the dirt.

Here you can see 4x6 posts that will form a redwood retaining wall holding back the lawn/planter.

Here you can see a big mound of dirt covered with plastic to keep the rain off.  This dirt will be pushed up against the retaining wall and leveled off after the walls are done.

Here's a shot of the steps with the forms removed.  They'll be capped in flagstone eventually.  There are 8 built-in light boxes.

Here you can see the footing for the seat-wall has been poured.

Here's a shot looking up the hill, standing in what will be the planter boxes.

And here's the fence having been mostly put back together:
