Education: University of California and San Francisco State University. Studies in the visual and performing arts. Studied under nationally renowned artists.
A native Californian, Teryl resides in Santa Rosa. Married to a Naval Aviator, she continued her education throughout the United States.
In addition to several one-artist shows, her works have been included in over one hundred international, national and regional juried competitions, receiving numerous awards. Her paintings have been in the California Museum of Art at Santa Rosa, the Fresno Metropolitan Museum , the Merced County Courthouse Museum, the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, and the visitors center at Yosemite National Park. Teryl's art is in private collections in Colombia, Japan, Italy and throughout the United States.
Teryl is a board member and past president of the California State Fair Artist Advisory Board and past president of the Nob Hill Branch of the National League of American Pen Women. She is a Signature member of the Eastbay Watercolor Society and a board and Signature member of the Marin Society of Artists.
Teryl was formerly employed as a choir director for St. John the Baptist Church in Healdsburg, CA and for the U.S. Coast Guard at the U.S.C.G. Training Center in Petaluma, CA and as a public school classroom music teacher in Sonoma County. She is a board and performing member of the Santa Rosa Symphonic chorus and a charter member of the Napa Valley Symphony Chorus.
