Toad Hollow Vineyards
2000 Dry Pinot Noir Rosé, Sonoma County
Pinot Noir Rosé, what a concept!
The time for Rosé is now, or possibly later in the day when the shadows fall,
or earlier in the day when there aren’t any shadows at all, only thirst.
It is very important to keep all sources of sugar out of Rosé and allow the classical grapes to speak for themselves. Uncluttered by any real or imagined saccharine-like improvements to the breed.
We have chosen Pinot Noir because it is a classical red wine and can be a classical Rosé, bringing honor to both camps.
We know there is a place in the sun or in the shade for a truly dry, uncomplicated statement of Pinot Noir at its lightest and most delicate which we proudly call our Rosé. We might be bold enough to say that most of the people who taste our Pinot Noir Rosé are converted to its single honest statement of here come the grapes . . . grab some as they come by.
