Kona, Hawaii
May 25 to June 4, 1999
Kati and I took another KONA trip in May. We stayed at the Kona Reef again.
We travelled with our friend Tim. Unfortunately Tim's girlfriend, Susan was not
able to come. This was Kati's and my 3rd KONA trip. We paid a little over $1000
per person, including: direct flight (San Francisco to KONA), oceanfront condo
for 10 days, and rental cars. We shore dove, as on our previous trips.
We booked this trip through Travel Fever. For help with your reservation,
give Debbie Pell a call at: 707-431-1901 or 707-431-7490. You can also send
Debbie e-mail at TravelFevr@aol.com
The weather was good. 80+ degrees, but clouds kept the sun from frying us.
Water temperatures were in the high seventies. We dove 10 times. Check out
Kati's and my dive logs.
We rented tanks and weights at Kona Coast Divers. Once again, we had the
luck of running in to Dick Dresie, "Dick the Diver", at the dive shop.
We were lucky enough to be there on the day of the Keauhou Triathalon!
The following is a list of the sites we dove with brief descriptions of the
highlights. Kona Coast Diver's and Dick The Diver's web sites do a great job
explaining these sites and how to get there. I've listed the sites in
