The "WILD ACE" Harley Davidson Trike was built from the REVELL 12th Scale "CRUSADER" Chopper, with parts from the 12th Scale REVELL "ACES WILD" Chopper, MONOGRAM 12th Scale Ferrari Testarossa and some Great Resin Parts from REPLICAS and MINIATURES COMPANY of MARYLAND.
This is a Custom Trike Conversion from a 2-Wheel Chopper. The CRUSADER Rear Frame Axle Holes were enlarged to make room for a new Trike Axle made from Aluminum Tubing with Brass Tubing inside for strength. The Holes in the Sproket and Rear Disc Brake were also enlarged. The Front Fender was cut down and modified to be a Fork Brace. A black wash from the DETAILER was applied to the Harley Cylinders.
The Rear Wheels are from the MONOGRAM 12th Scale Ferrari Testarossa. The Wheels were made from both the Front and Rear Inner Wheels with the Rear "Mags" cut down to fit the recessed Rear inner wheel. The Rear Ferrari Tires were mounted on the finished wheels. 16th Scale Cobra Wheels were used as backs for the Ferrrari Wheels.
The following Resin parts are from REPLICAS and MINIATURES COMPANY of MARYLAND: the Custom Teardrop Gastank #RM-136, the Handle Grips #RM-129 and the Carburator with Teardrop Air Cleaner #RM-136. These parts are the Highest Quality and added some WILD features to the WILD ACE! The Gold Cables and Lines are Foil Covered String from a Crafts Store.
The Exhaust Pipes, Belt Drive Cover, Seat and the Tail light are from the REVELL "ACES WILD" Chopper. The Exhaust Pipe ends were drilled out and painted Flat Black. The Belt Drive Cover Designs were sanded smooth and painted. The Seat was backed with sheet plastic and painted Flat Black. The I used an X-acto knife and gently "scraped" the paint from the raised "Spade" Design so that the white plastic color highlighted the "Spade" Design. The Tail Light was made from the "Wild Aces" Air Cleaner". It was backed with sheet plastic and a Plastic Ring was added on the top. Then the back was covered with "Chrome Bare Metal Foil" and the "Spade" Design was painted with TESTORS Stop Light Red. A "Sissy Bar" was made from Brass Rod to support the seat and hold the Spade Tail light.
The WILD ACE was first primed with DUPLI-COLOR Primer and then painted with TAMIYA Silver Leaf. Then the "WILD ACE" was painted with several coats of TAMIYA Mica Blue and then finished with DUPLI-COLOR Clear.
