An interesting book describing soccer and it's effects on culture and
politics (at least to a certain extent.) The author travelled to some 22
countries to get his stories. Some are fairly straight forward in a
traditional way: for example, the state of soccer in the US, or the fervor
of the Celtic-Rangers or Germany-Holland rivalry. Other chapters delve
into the darker side, such as Argie generals or East German secret police
meddling into the game.
