Oberliga Niederrhein, Game 8:
Was it a crap Preussen team, or a brilliant WSV? Unfortunately, it seemed
to be more of the former. In what was expected to be a fairly tough match,
WSV easily ripped Köln's ass, 4-0.
Noel Kipre started things off with a nice header (setup by a nice cross
from ex-Preussen Thomas Euler), and overall had a superb
game, causing trouble throughout, and setting up some of the other scores.
Actually, if he had taken advantage of his chances, he could have really
padded his stats. Instead, it was fellow forward Alex Kohout, who notched
a hat-trick. Kohout obviously deserves high marks, although he was
basically being opportunistic, taking advantage of crap Preussen defense.
But that's what you want from your forwards.
WSV went to sleep in the 2nd half, and since the Kölners had
basically given up before the opening whistle, everybody got to
take a 45 minute nap. Overall, perhaps not a great performance by WSV, but
certainly a great result.
