Oberliga Niederrhein, Round 27: (April 6, 2002)
WSV struggles, but brings the win in...
Not a stellar performance, but at least we win. Given the total defensive
strategy by Bonn, perhaps that's all you can hope for. Tavarez was back in
the lineup, and was the source of some originality in midfield. However,
his finishing was crap, reducing his effectiveness. Youngsters Dabovic
and Uzun worked hard, but were largely ineffectual.
The defense had little to do, as Bonn was playing catenaccio. Yasar Kurt,
who came on for the injured Tsapakidis, got the opening goal as he headed
home a 40 yard highball from Bayertz, as the BSC keeper lamely missed it.
Scoring: 1:0 Kurt (31.), 2:0 Dabovic (80.) Att: 1.100
