Match Reports

Regionalliga Nord, Round 29:
May 1, 2004

Wuppertaler SV - FC Schalke 04 Amateurs 1:1 (1:0)

Another non-result and we're dropped...

...out of a promotion spot, as Dresden won to move ahead.

Schalke's so-called amateur squad was reinforced by several pros from the Bundesliga squad, so the match was never going to be easy.

The game was relatively even, although WSV should have won, based on greater chances. Narewsky in particular was hard to stop, and his effort led to the 1-0 lead. Unfortunately Ebersbach wasted a couple of golden opportunities, Baumann hit the crossbar, and Tavarez' pretty bicycle kick missed the mark.
