Finally a victory for WSV! Brent Goulet comes through in the clutch and becomes WSV's leading scorer this season. Judging from the reports however, the victory could have been a lot higher.
Here, a liberal translation of the kicker of 8/19/96:

Goulet makes it all clear

Steup wore the captain's arm-band for the first time - and also took over the responsibility. Steup served up hartwig, who passed the ball on to Goulet, and the American put WSV in the lead after only 9 minutes. The good goalkeeper Joswig had no chance. However, the Wuppertal lead lasted only four measly minutes: Schnell won a 1-on-1 against his defender Menzel and blasted in the tie from 20 meters. Up to this point, it was well-deserved. With the 1:1 score, the sides were exchanged.
After the change, the Paderborn strength began to disappear. Again Goulet got WSV the lead, on an assist from Müller. And overall, the hosts created eight (!) scoring chances. Waldbröhl, Hartwig, Steup and Palic missed the best ones. Coach Jerat had put in an attack oriented lineup, with 3 fowards Simmes, Goulet and Hartwig. The guests only were dangerous once before the Wuppertal goal, through Ewen. All in all, a highly deserved victory for WSV.
