A disastrous result for WSV! How can you get clobbered by a team that will most likely be playing in the 4th division next year? Nevermind that Erkenschwick has often played the role of Angstgegner for WSV, having given us much difficulty on several occasions. The fact is, they suck, and this is a team we should've whipped their ass silly!
From Jochen Claasen:

Mannschaft.

Strate shoots down Wuppertal

Wuppertal's run of 9 games without a defeat blew up at the Stimberg. Erkenschwick's victory, which allows them to perhaps see land in the fight against relegation, was fully justified.

The hosts had learned from their embarrasing 0-4 home defeat against Saarbrücken. They played cautiously, but with great fighting spirit and controlled the game. WSV was hardly allowed any opportunities for development. Veteran Müller was totally sut down by the dogged defense of Zetzmann, and let himself be taken out of the game after an hour. But even the rest of the WSV attack disappointed.

The man of the match turned out to be Bernd Strate. Playing as the sole forward, he converted a nice pass from Wurst to make it 1-0, and the second goal came after a pass from Riechmann. He took the ball from midfield and waltzed through the WSV defense before knocking it home. In fact, it took a good save from Heinen to prevent his third goal, as the WSV keeper was just able to tip the shot over the crossbar. At the end of the match, Strate came out to nice applause from the "crowd", and replaced by the ex-WSV traitor Öczan Dagdas.
