At at last, a solid victory for WSV. This partially erases some of the
disgrace from last week's embarassment at the hands of Erkenschwick.
Although the race is still over, hopefully this will strengthen WSV's
determination to finish the season with a flurry and set the stage for
next year.
The WSV fans had to wait exactly 6 months and 8 days for another home
victory. This was a deserved win, but perhaps by too high a margin.
Coach Jerat, without his striker Müller, wished an early goal, to
finally let the team play with some security. Well, he got his wish, at
least regarding the early goal, but the team did not play with
confidence.
When the defensive player Wüster came in the 2nd half, the insecure
WSV defense stabilized. Bocholt was then subjected to increasing
pressure. The initial harvest was only a shot off the crossbar by Goulet
(61.), but in the closing phase of the game, the reward came. N'Diaye's
header from 14 meters, and Panait's 23 meter rocket were not only goals
worth seeing, but also their first goals in WSV uniforms.
