Nice to beat any team on the road, although WSV should really cream these guys about 7-0. Nevertheless, they bring home the bacon, and that's worth something...
Singer helpless against Goulet

Actually, a funnier title might be something like "Goulet helpless as a singer", referring of course to Robert Goulet, the crappy singer and lousy actor. But this was a type of "Brent Goulet Day", as the American forward remains the scourge of Hauenstein. He scored in every game he's played against the Pfälzer, and hit for the hattrick in this match. He took advantage of the unusual weakness in the Hauenstein defense, who are now back in the relagation fight. Not only did he take his opportunities cold-bloodedly, but he was lucky to boot.

When scoring the 0:1, he had hit the post first, before ramming home the rebound. And the 1:3 score came after he hit the post again, but the ball rebounded off the goalkeeper back into the net.

Despite the win, WSV was not overly impressive in the first half, and was unable to create too many chances. Sloppy defending also led to two (1) penalties, that gave Hauenstein some hope that they didn't deserve. Finally, N'Diaye scored quickly after the second penalty, to let the air out of their balloon.

Aside from Goulet, who is partnering quite well with N'Diaye, Knut Hartwig and Sven Steup had excellent games for WSV, as they helped control the midfield.

Approximately 100 Wuppertal fans made the trip south, and the victory certainly made the ride back more enjoyable.
