 Our Holy Land Trip
December 26, 2005 - January 8, 2006

We were blessed to visit the Holy Land between December 26, 2005 and January 8, 2006.  After spending our first night in Netanya on the Mediterranean Sea, we toured the Galilee area for several days, staying at the Ein Gev Kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee for 4 nights.  We then moved on to the Olive Tree Hotel in Jerusalem for 6 nights - visiting the Dead Sea area along with Jerusalem and the surrounding area.  We had the opportunity to learn a great deal about Israel, and to read scriptures and sing hymns at the places we visited.  (Names of some of the hymns we sang are in parentheses on the individual pages of the locations where we sang them.  Also see videos on slides hl6961 & hl7109.)  We are grateful to our USA guides, Leisel & Gary McBride, and to our Jewish Israeli guide, Mark, for the wealth of information they shared with us and for making Israel come alive.  We enjoyed spending this time with the others in our tour group: Spencer, Angela, Laurel, Carolyn, MarDeanne, and Rebecca.  We especially appreciate our bus driver, Ehab.  As we read the Bible, the stories come alive even more now because we recognize so many of the places mentioned.  Our testimonies of our Savior, Jesus Christ, are strengthened as we think back to our visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth, Capernaum, the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha and the Garden Tomb and reflect on our Savior's birth, His life, His atonement, and His resurrection.
