On the day of the Kirtland Temple dedication, March 27, 1836, the congregation began to assemble outside before 8 am. At 9 am the doors were open and the Prophet Joseph Smith along with other leaders began seating the people. After every seat was filled, the one thousand persons inside waited to hear the word of the Lord.
