How it all began - One day, Ernest Warther met a hobo who "whittled" him a pair of wooden pliers, like the ones shown here. He took the pliers home, studied them, and then mastered how to "whittle" the pliers. It is estimated he "whittled" and gave away about 750,000 pliers in his lifetime.
