This is a replica of an amphibious plane used by H F Johnson to fly into the deep jungles of Brazil to look for a permanent supply of carnauba wax, which was then the key ingredient in Johnson Wax. The original plane was lost a few years later while being used to search for oil. The wreckage was recently found by the Johnson family in Indonesia.
