The 5250 is the bigger brother of the highly acclaimed 4240, providing greater flexibility and performance. The 5250 is available in special edition form also, offering enhanced performance and quality.
Featuring: 4 line level inputs, 2 tape loops, tape to tape copy, separate record and listen facilities, optional high quality discrete transistor plug-in vinyl disc circuit (MM or MC), plug-in active pre-amp gain stage, if required. External access to its Pre and Power amplifiers make bi- or tri-amping possible, using the generically similar Creek A52 - 75W stereo power amplifier.
Loudspeaker connection is provided by 2 pairs of high current binding posts, that meet the new EC regulations. Two high current gold contact relays allow speakers, A, B, or A+B, to be switched from the front panel, together with full overload, DC offset and anti-thump protection and speaker mute.
The 5250 is DC coupled from input to output and uses sophisticated DC servo circuitry to maintain ultra low offset
voltage and eliminate capacitors in the signal path.
Custom Creek power amp circuitry uses a cascaded differential input stage, with FET differential voltage amp together
with MOS-FET's driver and output stage using 2 x 22Amp power transistors per channel in the STD and 4 devices in the SE
version, providing a massive output current potential.
The 5250 uses a single l60VA transformer and double smoothing capacitors. The special edition uses a single 200VA transformer and larger value smoothing capacitors.
Both amps are available with optional remote control circuitry, using motorized volume pot, input selector and relay
controlled speaker mute.
