This case must have used a somewhat non-standard BOSCH connector hood, or at least it is completely different from the half dozen I have, and more importantly it doesn't fit the connector that is on the harness now.  The large finger of metal prevents the hood from capturing the catch mechanism.  Just can't raise it far enough so that the hood didn't strike it.  Removing the top of it solved that problem.
