Because of the addition of the rear auxiliary connector both the case and the cover needed to be modified. The case needed a notch milled out to clear the DB-37 connector. Because there are components close to the rear lip of the cover I needed to do more than just remove the gasket in that area. Had to notch back about half way up the sloped portion of the cover. Next I reduced the radius of the fold between the sloped portion and the flat lip. Then I bent it upwards so the rear lip was again parallel with the rear frame again. I had originally removed the gasket material hoping that would be enough but those by-pass caps still would hit the cover so I had to re-glue it back in place. Worked out pretty well. Don't really need the gasket to seal anything because this ECM will not be in a moist environment but it does add some support to the bottom of the PCB below the connector.
