Knock Sensor DSP - Block V

NOTE: Modified 05/08/05

This circuit is designed to interface with up to two audio knock sensors.  The TIPC8101 is a powerful dual channel engine knock detector with signal processing.  In other words a DSP.  Programmable Gain and Band-Pass Filter Centering are some of its features.  Reconstructing the signal from the sensor and isolating the frequencies that represent detonation isn't an easy task to accomplish.  This guy handles much of the dirty work for us.  It communicates through the SPI serial buss and its inputs come from the rear DB-37 auxiliary connector.
