Obituary for Harrison Dawson

Charleroi, May 6 -- Harrison Dawson, aged 75 died suddenly of heart failure this morning at his home here. He ate his breakfast as usual, fed the chickens and then sat down in the house to read a newspaper. Later his daughter, Mrs. Clark Lancaster heard a noise and hurried in to find that her father had fallen from his chair. Medical aid was summoned, but death occurred in a very brief time.

Deceased was born near Uniontown on the old Dawson homestead where Continental No. 3 now stands. He had resided in Charleroi the last 14 years, having moved here from his farm in Luzerne township. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian church of Charleroi and formerly of Grace Chapel near High House.

Mr. Dawson's wife died April 22, 1912. She was stricken with paralysis Wednesday evening and died the following Monday afternoon. There have been four deaths in the Dawson connection in the last two years. Mr. Dawson's oldest sister, Mrs. Sarah Jane Murphy died at Newton, Kas., two months ago. Edgar Dawson, son of Attorney J. W. Dawson of Uniontown, died in January 1913.

Deceased is survived by these children: Attorney J. W. Dawson, Uniontown; Mrs. Clark Lancaster, at home; Mrs. G.B. Nelan, Lutellus and George W. Dawson, all of Charleroi. There is one brother, William H. of Uniontown; and one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Barnes, Connellsville.

Internment will occur at Oak Grove cemetery, Uniontown.
