Sold out Acianthera/Pleurothallis pectinata #5505 outcross (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: Found in Brazil in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, and Santa Catarina at elevations around 1200 ft elevation. It was published as a Pleurothallis but was changed later change to Acianthera The leaves are pendant and “boat shaped”. The inflorscense comes from the base of the leaf and is shaded by the overhang of the leaf. The leaf usually starts upright and as it grows it arches and becomes pendant with the weight of the leaf. Sometimes it will emerge from the side of the container. It is best grown in a basket where the the leaves can hang free. The flowers can range from yellow to maroon and blends of the two. Culture: I have always seen this grown in a basket so the leaves can hang free. It is best grown in warm/intermediate to warm conditions, somewhat shady, with year round watering. I have always grown it in sphagnum moss but other media are possible. You want it to be moist but not soggy. Parents: Acianthera pectinata
