Sold out Angraecum sororium outcross #2865 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). I have found this species to be slow and troublsome in flask. I have final flasks available intermittently, but rarley have them available immediately. The Species: From the central highlands of Madagascar, this grows as a terrestrial or lithophyte in fully exposed areas among boulders and granite outcrops at 5250 to 7200 ft. In situ, this species receives frequestn but brief frosts and early-monring freezes during the winter months. Mist and heavy dews are common during the remainder of the year. It can be up to 30" tall with leaves only on the top quarter of the plant. The pure white flowers are born with 1 to 4 per inflorescence and can be 5" wide. Culture: Give as much light as possible without burning the leaves. In the habitat the sun is frequently reduced by fog and mist .In the winter, rainfall is reduced but some moisture is available from fog and dew. Strong air movement is important. From Fred Hillerman, "This species can be grown in a variety of terrestrial and semiterrestrial media, ranging from pure fine sand, perlite, lava rock, pumice, or a combination of these and others to the semiterrestrial mix recommended in our chapter on Culture, medium to fine fir bark, leafmold, etc. In fact, the only potting medium we have found to be definitely detrimental to the plant's welfare is coarse fir bark. Some growers add lumps of granite of decomposed quartzite to their mix to simulate the species' natural environment and to ensure good drainage, but that is a matter of personal preference."
