Sold out Arundina graminifolia select dark selfing #4479 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is seed that I was given. This form is a select clone with a very dark flower and it is a relatively compact grower. It will start blooming at 4" tall and the mature plants is about 30" tal when grown in bright lightl. Compared to the 6 ft that many clones reach, this is quite manageable. The species is a terrestrial and is wide spread from India and the Himalayan regions and throughout Southeast Asia. Over its range it comes from elevation as low as 200 ft and as hight as 7100 ft. It is always found in sunny locations. Culture: Because of the wide range of elevations, there should be some latitude for growing conditions for this species. It does need bright light to bloom well. And the brighter the light, the more compact the plant. In nature it has a warm summer season with average day/night temperatures around 83F days and 70F nights. The rainfall is heaviest this time of year and skies can be overcast. In the winter, the range is from 70F days down to mid to high 40's with less rainfall. Grow in a rich, well drained mix with regular water and fertilizer in the growing season. Parent: Arundina graminifolia |
