Aeranthes polyanthema #2018 selfing (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: A moderately sized plant that grows in central Madagascar where it is found at elevations from 3900 and 4650 feet. The unusual aspect of this Aeranthes is that all of the flowers open at one time with a nice presentation on the inflorescence. Culture: I only have experience with this one plant and haven't experimented much with the culture. I grow it in potted in a fine bark mix with moderate light and year round watering. I use dilute fertilizer at every watering and let it approach dryness between waterings but not go dry for an extended period of time. I have been growing it with 56F minimum nights. Parent plant. For reference, the plant is potted in a 4" ceramic pot. |
