Cattleya crispata #4204 x self (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is a rupiculous (rock growing) species from the state of Minas Gerais a elevations from 1300 to 2600 ft. The bright yellow flowers are from 1.5 to 2" across with 3 to 6 per inflorescence. The overall plant height is up to 14". Culture: Grow this in bright shade intermediate temperatures. It does well for me in a mix of bark mixed with rock in pots small enough so that the medium dries a bit between waterings. In the habitat there is reduced rainfall in fall and winter, but the nightly dew is very heavy. Water should be reduced in fall and winter, but not be allowed to dry for extended periods of time.
