Sold out Cattleya loddigesii outcross #4025 ('Blue' x 'Best') (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). I do not have images of the parents. It would make sense that an outcross of 'Blue' would be made with another coerulea, but I can't guarantee that is the case. The Species: This moderately sized, bifoliate Cattleya grows in Brazil at elevations of 2000 to 3000 ft. The plant height is between 7 and 16" tall. The flowers are 3 to 4" wide with 3 to 6 flowers per inflorescence. Culture: The roots need to dry quickly after watering. So this is frequently grown in pots or baskets with a fast draining, open medium. Repot before the medium breaks down and allow only for 1 or 2 years growth. If mounted, humidity needs to be high and may require daily watering in summer. This grows well in intermediate conditions and can drop down to the low 50's F in the winter. Spring through early fall there is ample rainfall in the habitat. The winter is still humid with some rainfall. Cattleya loddigesii. These are not the parents of the cross but give a good representation of the species.
