Cattleya mendelii x self #4096 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: On the eastern slopes of the Andes in Colombia this can be found as an epiphyte on trees and also growing on rock outcroppings. This is selfing of of Cattleya mendelii from 'Rayo de Luna' lineage. Each inflorescence can carry up to five flowers of the long lasting, fragrant flowers. On my bloomings, the flowers are a bit over 5” natural spread. Culture: I grow this in an intermediate greenhouse, up high so it gets bright light. I grow it in medium bark and water it so that it has been dry for a couple of days before being watered again.. Parent: Cattleya mendelii 'Stony Point'
