Sold out Capanemia superflua outcross #3587 ('a' x 'b') & #3588 ('b' x 'a') (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This minature species is found from central Brazil into northern Argentina. It is found at elevations around 1650 feet. It grows as an epiphyte on small branches and twigs. It blooms in the fall with pendant, densely flowered inflorescences that can cover the plant. Culture: I have grown this species in both intermediate and cool conditions. Ideally it would do best with a cool/cold winter and an intermediate summer. Grow it in semi shade. It gets year round moisture with diltute fertilizer. During the growing season it should be watered daily assuming that it will be dry by the next day. During the winter months, water a bit less often, but don't let it stay dry for a sustained periods of time. In the habitat, it gets less rain in the winter, but don't get a true dry rest. Capsule parent: Capanemia superflua 'a' |
