Chytroglossa marileoniae #6454 outcross (approximately 25 seedlings per flask) The Species: This is a choice miniature species not often seen in culivation. It is a clumping species with leaves that are less than 2.5” tall. The inflorescence carries 16 (or sometimes more) of the colorful flowers that are 0.6” tall and long lasting. It grows at elevations from 1650 to 3300 ft in the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Rio de Janiero as an epiphyte. It gets medium shade, good humidity and even moisture. Culture: I have always grown this plant mounted where it displays its pendant spikes well. It can also be grown potted. It is described as cool-intermediate to intermediate grower. I grow mine with cool growing Masdevallia species with 50F minimum winter nights and 75 to 80F maximum days. Grow it in shade and keep it moist but not soggy. Use dilute fertilizer and water it year round. Chytroglossa marileoniae: These images are representative of this species.
