Sold out Cirrhaea loddigesii treated selfing #94181 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). These seedlings have been treated to alter the chromosome count. This does not guarantee that they will be 4N. For more information go to Ploidy. The Species: This rarely seen species from Brazil is a moderately sized plant related to Stanhopea and Gongora with pendant inflorescences that can ring the plant with a curtain of flowers. The flowers are non-resupinate (upside down) and have a green background with some bits of red. Culture: This plant has done best for me in warm conditions in moderately bright light with year round water and dilute fertilizer. I have been growing it in a net pot in a fine bark mix. The spikes go over the top of the medium and then cascade down. It can be grown potted or mounted. You just want to be sure the spikes can hang free. Parent: Cirrhaea loddigesii |
