Coelogyne usitana outcross #4133 ('B' x 'A') (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This speces was described in 2001. It is endemic to only one island in the Philippines. It grows at elevations around 2600 feet. Though it is listed as blooming in the spring and summer, I find that on a large plant I have blooms year round. Each inflorescence will continue to bloom one flower at a time for many months to a year and can have over 40 flowers on one inflorescence. It makes a magnificent specimen plant and also will start flowering on a small plant. Culture: It is considered a warm to intermediate grower that requires year round moisture. I have grown this species in intermediate and cool-intermediate conditions but it does especially well in a warm house. I fertilize them with 1/4 strength fertilizer most of the year and a bit lower strength in winter. They are watered before they approach dryness. Because of the arching to pendant spike habit they are best displayed when hanging. I prefer a fine bark mix. For some reason I didn't document the parents though I did very much like both of the parents. Here area few images to get a sense of the flower
