Dendrobium lueckelianum #5190 x self (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: Found in Thailand as a miniature (approximately 6" tall), cool growing epiphyte at elevations from 4000 to 4250 ft. The 2" flowers are produced on a short inflorescence from the nodes of the psedulbulb with one to two flowers. Culture: Grow in moderate light during the growing season and a bit brighter in the winter and early spring. In the habitat, spring and summer are warm and wet with days in the upper 80's F in the spring and low 80's F in summer while nights are in the mid-60's F. The nights in the winter and early spring are in the mid to upper 40's F and the days in the mid- 60's F. Rainfall from November through March is greatly reduced, but moisture is still available from mist and dew. Plants should should dry between waterings in the winter, but not be left dry for any extended period of time.Water or mist to keep the pseudobulbs from shriveling. The plant shown below was grown in intermediate conditions. It can be grown potted or mounted. Parent: Dendrobium lueckelianum
